The Success of Our Graduate Seda Nur Mumcu from the Faculty of Architecture and Design

Seda Nur MUMCU, a 2023 graduate of the Department of Architecture (English), Faculty of Architecture and Design, has been awarded an equivalent honorable mention in the Archiprix Turkey 2023 National Architecture Students Graduation Projects Competition. Her project, prepared as part of ARCH 420 Design Studio VIII, was selected from 154 submissions.

The Archiprix Turkey, which began in 1996, is one of the longest-running and most prestigious awards in architectural education. Organized annually by the Şevki Vanlı Architecture Foundation and the Architects Association 1927, the competition serves as the first step toward a successful professional career for young architects. It also aims to increase competition among educational institutions, showcase the diversity of project topics, foster discussion, and ultimately elevate the quality of architectural education at the national level. This year, only 12 projects were awarded out of the entries submitted by young graduates from architecture departments of universities in Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who completed their graduation projects in the 2022-2023 academic year.
