Success of Our Ship and Yacht Design Department Students

The results of the 11th National Ship and Yacht Design Competition, organized annually by the Ship, Yacht, and Services Exporters' Association (GYHİB) with the support of the Ministry of Trade, have been announced. This year, the theme of the competition was "Next-Generation Bulk Carrier Ship." In the competition, 25 students from various universities and design/engineering departments participated with 9 projects. The projects were evaluated by a jury of 15 industry representatives and academicians based on criteria such as environmental friendliness, presentation quality, feasibility, contribution to the industry, domestic contribution rate, and innovation.

We are proud to announce that the "Vaquita" design, a collaborative work by our Ship and Yacht Design Department graduate Tunahan Sert and Yıldız Technical University student Nedir Ymamov, won first place.

Additionally, the Turkish Lloyd Special Award was given to the "Aiolos" project, a joint effort by our Ship and Yacht Design Department student Tuncer Sönmezoğlu and students from ITU: Derya Çelikel, Mehmet Akif Tarhan, and Erdinç Kara.

We congratulate our students and their professors for their remarkable achievements and wish them continued success.
