Success of Our Graduate School Student

Emir AYTEMÜR, a student from our Graduate School, has achieved remarkable success with his thesis titled "Haiku as a New Narrative Form at the Intersection of Cinema and Poetry: Scream for Ice", under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Şahin KARASAR, in the Cinema Art Proficiency Program of the Department of Fine Arts. Emir AYTEMÜR not only produced and directed the film "Scream for Ice", but also made history by winning the most awards among fictional, documentary, animated, and experimental short films shot in Turkey.

The first film of the trilogy titled "Scream"—which explores the conflict between nature and humanity through the "haiku" narrative form—Scream for Ice participated in 80 national and international festivals, including prestigious events such as the 32nd Ankara International Film Festival, 28th Adana Golden Boll International Film Festival, 22nd Izmir International Short Film Festival, 44th Drama International Short Film Festival (Greece), 28th SUNCINE Film Festival (Spain), and 23rd Très Court International Film Festival (France). The film was honored with awards at 16 festivals.
