Our esteemed faculty members, Prof. Dr. Şener Oktik and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülsen Baytemir, participated in the "Energy Transition and Sustainability (EDSK'25) Conference."

On January 9-10, 2025, as the Maltepe University Sustainability Office, we participated in the "Energy Transition and Sustainability (EDSK'25) Conference" organized by the Istanbul Gedik University Energy Technologies Application and Research Center. We were accompanied by our esteemed faculty members, Prof. Dr. Şener Oktik and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülsen Baytemir.

This significant conference provided a platform for sharing innovative approaches and projects on energy transition and sustainability while bringing together a diverse audience from universities, research centers, and the business sector. The event played a crucial role in fostering collaboration opportunities and bridging academic and industrial perspectives toward the goal of a sustainable future.

Prof. Dr. Şener Oktik participated as a panelist in the panel themed "Transformation in Energy," alongside distinguished academics Prof. Dr. Tanay Sıdkı Uyar and Prof. Dr. Hasan Alpay Heperkan. During the panel, Prof. Oktik shared his extensive knowledge and experience on energy transition and sustainability, creating a valuable platform for discussing developments and future perspectives in this field. Critical issues concerning the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of energy transition were addressed during the panel, emphasizing the importance of academic and industrial collaborations. Prof. Oktik’s contributions particularly inspired participants on how innovative approaches and energy policies can be aligned with sustainability goals.

Furthermore, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülsen Baytemir presented a talk titled "Applications of Biosensor Technologies in the Healthcare Field: Innovative Solutions and Sustainability Approach," prepared in collaboration with Istanbul Gedik University faculty member Gözde Konuk Ege and Marmara University faculty member Özge Akay Sefer. This presentation explored the innovative applications of biosensor technologies in healthcare and their sustainability approaches, offering participants highly informative and inspiring content.

Such efforts underscore the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the need for sustainable technologies, highlighting how innovative solutions in the healthcare sector can contribute to a sustainable future. Our participation in this conference not only strengthened our sustainability mission but also made a significant contribution to the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of energy and healthcare technologies.
