Preschool Teacher Training Programme

In some developed countries in the world, the participation rate in preschool education reaches 100%. One of the important developments in the field of education in Turkey in recent years is the increase in the participation rate in the field of preschool education. The 0-6 age period, which is seen as the most important period of life, is the preschool period when the basic development occurs in the individual's life. Children who gain their first basic habits in the family environment usually have the opportunity to be with their peers in a rich learning environment in the preschool education institution they start at the age of 3. The teacher who welcomes children who start preschool education takes on a very important duty. He/she handles children's acquisition of knowledge and skills within a developmental framework; with the environment he/she creates and the activities he/she implements, he/she is one of the most important people for children in this age period. In this direction, the education we want to provide in the Preschool Teaching Department is a comprehensive education aimed at training teachers who have solid and up-to-date knowledge in this field, who know child development and effective methods and techniques in learning, who enjoy working with children, who know how to learn from children as much as they teach them about life. The purpose of this program that we plan to implement is to meet the increasing need for teachers by training qualified professionals who can produce and transfer knowledge in the field of preschool education, which is also important, necessary and desired to be contributed to by parents in Turkey today. In addition to our graduates being knowledgeable and confident educators who know the field of preschool education well and can contribute to this field, we aim to have teachers who are motivated to learn and teach, can work collaboratively, can share their knowledge, enjoy working with children, have strong communication skills and aim to learn throughout their lives. We also aim to meet an important need in this field by training professionals who play a role in the first school experiences of children. Our graduates can work as ‘Preschool Education Teachers’ in private or state-affiliated educational institutions and can serve in managerial positions in preschool educational institutions. In addition, our graduates can become faculty members at various universities by completing their master’s and doctorate degrees.
