Program Learning Outcomes

1. Takes responsibility and initiative related to their field within multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary teams and collaborates as necessary. Within the framework of this collaboration, they communicate with patients/clients, families, and other relevant stakeholders (teachers, physicians, psychologists, employers, etc.) appropriately according to their age, gender, sociocultural level, and speech-language disorder.

2. By utilizing lifelong learning, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, they organize their independent work in the field of Speech and Language Therapy effectively and adequately, ensuring the continuity of quality and organizational functions as well as their professional development.

3. Acts respectfully and sensitively towards democracy, human rights, human values, and social and cultural diversity; conveys clear and accurate information to the patient, healthcare personnel, and society by evaluating individual, linguistic, and cultural differences through knowledge of the traditions, languages, and cultures of their own country and other countries.

4. Takes responsibility as an individual and/or a team member by using up-to-date knowledge in the field of speech and language therapy, analyzes and manages necessary work processes, and produces solutions to problems in accordance with knowledge and evidence.

5. Acts in accordance with the legal regulations, scientific and professional ethical values, and principles related to their professional duties, rights, and responsibilities as an individual, and practices their profession by observing patient rights.

6. Knows how to access current basic, theoretical, and applied scientific knowledge in the field of speech and language therapy using information technologies and resources; evaluates the accuracy, reliability, and validity of this information.

7. Acts in accordance with standard processes by having sufficient awareness of quality management and continuity, environmental protection, and occupational safety.

8. Determines their personal and professional learning needs with a self-critical approach, develops a positive attitude towards lifelong learning by learning at least one foreign language, and demonstrates what they have learned.

9. Develops projects for the improvement of internal/external, national, and international individual and public health, family counseling, social awareness, and health and education policies related to the field of speech and language therapy; takes part in studies addressing protective and preventive needs, and conveys clear and accurate information through various social awareness activities regarding speech and language disorders.

10. Participates in, plans, and implements projects and research by using their acquired knowledge of research methods, learning-teaching, measurement and evaluation, and management.

11. Knows how to plan, develop programs, and implement prevention, functional assessment, differential diagnosis, intervention, therapy, and rehabilitation practices with a biopsychosocial and culturally based holistic approach, using the theoretical and applied concepts and principles required in the field of Speech and Language Therapy.

12. Acts in accordance with the legal regulations, scientific and professional ethical values, and principles related to their professional duties, rights, and responsibilities as an individual, and practices their profession by observing patient rights.
