Mission

The Department of Speech and Language Therapy aims to train competent speech and language therapists who work to improve individuals' quality of life through the development of communication, language, speech, voice, and swallowing processes, as well as the prevention, assessment, functional diagnosis, and rehabilitation of related disorders. It strives to graduate professionals who keep abreast of scientific developments, implement evidence-based practices in their field, follow and utilize technology in their work, possess professional ethical values, and are capable of collaborative teamwork.

Vision

The vision of the Speech and Language Therapy undergraduate program is to be a pioneering department at the national level and a recognized, authoritative department at the international level, founded on scientific research. It aspires to be a department that prioritizes public benefit without discrimination, contributes to society, and is capable of collaborating with other disciplines while maintaining the principle of independent work.

Program Description

The program aims to train graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required by the healthcare discipline of speech and language therapy. It seeks to graduate professionals who possess the holistic perspective necessary to design, implement, and supervise intervention programs tailored to the individual and their condition by conducting functional assessments and differential diagnoses of speech and language disorders. Additionally, it aims to equip them with the ability to take initiative within a team, be open to collaboration, utilize necessary technology, tools, and equipment, think multidimensionally, and be creative and innovative.

The main objective of the program is to train healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values required to provide qualified services in line with a bio-psycho-social and multicultural approach. By engaging directly with healthy, ill, and special needs individuals, they will play an active role in the improvement and protection of health. These professionals will be equipped to effectively understand, evaluate, and manage the situations they encounter, and to competently fulfill their responsibilities in health, education, and other related fields.
