Software Engineering (EN)
Software Engineering is a discipline where engineering methods are applied to the development of software, focusing on meeting customer requirements within a defined budget and minimizing problems through new methods, tools, and practices.
The concepts of quality software and the engineering approach to software development were first introduced at the NATO conference in 1968. Since then, efforts toward controlled, high-quality, systematic, and engineering-based software development have begun.
Today, software systems are primarily used in various fields, including banking, telecommunications, aviation, automotive, healthcare, and public services. Given this, there will be a growing demand for experts in software engineering in the coming years.
Students of the Software Engineering Department at Maltepe University will apply the theoretical knowledge they gain in classes to practical work in our laboratories, helping them to develop their skills. By increasing our focus on industry-specific applications, students will graduate with up-to-date knowledge of current topics and be able to quickly adapt to the institutions where they work.
