Industrial Engineering (EN)
The Industrial Engineering program at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Maltepe University, aims to provide international-level knowledge, skills, and competencies for effectively organizing and managing products, production processes, and services within a wide range of industrial activities. The current classification of industries is based on the economic sectors, starting with the primary sector of raw materials, followed by the secondary sector of manufacturing and construction, the tertiary sector of services, the quaternary sector of information services, and the quinary sector of human services.
The program is designed to equip students with universal values and competencies that will enable them to take active roles in all five sectors of the economy. Our graduates will be prepared to contribute to the design, planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of systems in both production and services. The goal is to train industrial engineers who are capable of meeting the international and national demand for qualified human resources in the industrial and services sectors, particularly in our country.
The curriculum is developed with a focus on the foundational elements of the "Fourth Industrial Revolution," including data and computational power, analytics and intelligence, advanced analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, metaverse, human-machine interaction, virtual reality and augmented reality, robotics, and automation. Students are trained in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, and problem-solving, while also gaining awareness in the fields of natural and social sciences. This comprehensive approach prepares students to apply critical and systems-based thinking effectively in solving real-world problems and designing systems across various industrial contexts.
