Message from the Dean

Dear Students,

Welcome to the Faculty of Medicine at Maltepe University. Established in 1997 as the last link in the chain of Marmara Educational Institutions, Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine is the first private university medical faculty in Istanbul with its own hospital. Adopting the approach of "freedom in thought, modern in education, universal in science," our main vision has been to become a leading medical faculty in Turkey and the world, with high competitiveness in the national and international arenas.

It is a source of pride for us to teach you the art of medicine with our strong educational staff, our internationally accredited hospital, laboratories, and virtual clinics. Throughout your education, you will not only learn knowledge but also learn how to access information and interpret it. One of the most important stakeholders with whom we will collaborate as team members in our faculty's research, development, and community service activities is you, our valuable students. We support your participation in national and international programs to enhance your knowledge and skills. We are happy to offer you ecosystems where you can express yourself, through the international student congresses we have been organizing at our university for many years.

Medicine is not only a science but an art centered around human beings. We will teach you this art through a master-apprentice relationship, with a discipline that is regularly updated. As you grow into individuals who communicate well, show empathy, embrace ethical values, and acquire skills, your self-confidence will increase, your personality will develop and strengthen. You will become wise, trusted, and respected people in your surroundings. We will witness this change in you, be happy about it, and continue to improve ourselves to do better.

On this challenging journey, we, as your professors, will always be by your side and close to you. Remember that the white coat you will wear symbolizes purity, cleanliness, and honesty. I greet you all with respect and love.
