Project Announcement: Safeguarding the Gagauz Language and Culture

The project titled "A Socio-Cultural Model Attempt to Prevent the Loss of the Gagauz Language and Culture: Turning Healthy Bilingualism into an Advantage for the Gagauz" has been awarded first place in the evaluation conducted under the 2530 TÜBİTAK - Moldova (NARD) Bilateral Cooperation Program and has been approved for funding. The project will be carried out in collaboration with Komrat State University, Maltepe University, and Trakya University between 2025 and 2027 under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Gökçesu Akşit Dudaklı.

📅 Project Kickoff and Introductory Meeting

The introductory meeting of the project will be held online on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 14:30 Turkey time / 13:30 Moldova time. The meeting will take place on Maltepe University's Blackboard platform, with the participation of academics and students from Maltepe University, Trakya University, and Komrat State University. The opening speech will be delivered by Maltepe University Rector, Prof. Dr. Edibe Sözen Çetintaş.

📚 Research in Social Sciences Course: Qualitative Methodology and Participatory Action Research

As part of the project, the course "Research in Social Sciences: Qualitative Methodology and Participatory Action Research" will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Belma Akşit and Prof. Dr. Gökçesu Akşit Dudaklı.

📚 Course Duration: April 8 - June 10, 2025 (10 Weeks) (Tuesdays)
🕒 Time: 15:00-17:00 (Turkey time) / 14:00-16:00 (Moldova time)
📌 Platform: Maltepe University Blackboard Learn (Online)

🎓 Participation Certificate will be awarded to participants who attend at least eight sessions.

📢 Registered participants will receive the course link via email.
📢 Participants unable to attend live sessions will have access to recorded lectures.

These online courses will be open to academics and students from Maltepe University, Komrat State University, and Trakya University who are interested in the topic. However, practical workshops, conducted both online and in-person, will be carried out exclusively by the project team.
