The Child Services Branch Directorate, affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Department of Social Services, organized the “Workshop for Academics Working in the Field of Children” on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Florya Social Facilities. This workshop was planned with the aim of promoting IMM's services for children and developing academic collaborations. Specialist Kaya Yüksek attended the meeting on behalf of the SOYAÇ Center to share the activities of our center.
As part of the November 20 Universal Children’s Day, the event focused on protecting and promoting children's rights, improving the services provided to children, and informing participants about IMM’s child-focused projects. To this end, a breakfast meeting was held with academics from the Departments of Child Development and Early Childhood Education, as well as experts working in child-focused units.
During the meeting, the main services offered by the IMM Child Services Branch Directorate were introduced: Yuvamız İstanbul Child Activity Centers, Yuvamız İstanbul Magazine, Child Rights Unit, IMM Child Events, Online Play Group, Parent-Child Play Group, Parenting School, Hourly Childcare Services, English Education Program, and collaborations with institutions working in the field of child services were discussed in detail. Participants shared their opinions and suggestions regarding child-related work and exchanged ideas on potential new collaborations.
