A field study was conducted in Edirne within the scope of the MODELGAGAVUZ Project (June 18–25, 2025)
The project titled “A Socio-Cultural Model Proposal for the Preservation of the Gagauz Language and Culture: Turning Healthy Bilingualism into an Advantage for the Gagauz”, which aims to safeguard the Gagauz language and culture, was ranked first and selected for funding under the 2530 TÜBİTAK – Moldova (NARD) Bilateral Cooperation Program. The project is being implemented under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Gökçesu Akşit Dudaklı between 2025 and 2027.
As part of the project, one of its core work packages — a qualitative field study — was successfully carried out in Thrace (Trakya) between June 18–25, 2025, following the completion of the course “Research in Social Sciences: Qualitative Methodology and Participatory Action Research.”
The fieldwork was conducted under the coordination of Trakya University, with the active participation of researchers from Maltepe University, Komrat State University, and Trakya University.
