The Personal Data and Electronic Commerce Law

Paylaş

As the world digitalizes and technology advances, the value of data is increasing day by day. Indeed, this is also true for personal data, which, when used correctly, enables companies to gain substantial benefits. However, personal data belongs to an individual and, therefore, cannot be freely used by organizations that possess it.

Commerce has not remained indifferent to the changing world, shifting increasingly towards the virtual environment. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this transformation accelerated, with many brands turning to electronic commerce as traditional stores closed. This has heightened the importance of numerous legal issues related to e-commerce.

The Personal Data and Electronic Commerce Law Research Group will conduct studies on personal data and e-commerce law, both of which are becoming more significant and prevalent in our lives. The group will examine these topics in detail, both individually and at their points of intersection.
