The aim of the Center is to conduct scientific applications and researches in the field of women and family problems at national and international level and to support such applications and researches, to hold academic and social panels, seminars, conferences and similar meetings, to carry out educational activities, to develop projects, to cooperate with relevant institutions and organizations and to provide consultancy services.
The Center carries out activities in the following areas in line with its objectives:
- Conducting, participating in and supporting research, studies and projects at national and international level in the context of women's and family studies on social, legal, economic, political issues and issues related to education, work life and health.
- To propose the opening of programs on women's and family studies within the University and to encourage the opening of courses on women's studies in existing undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs.
- To organize all kinds of scientific, artistic and cultural activities such as seminars, conferences, panels, congresses, symposiums, colloquiums, exhibitions and similar scientific, artistic and cultural activities at national and international level on issues within the scope of women's and family studies, to encourage the organization of such activities and to participate in such activities.
- To establish research and support programs to contribute to the empowerment of women in the social and political spheres.
- To increase sensitivity on women's issues, to carry out activities to create public opinion, to make printed, verbal and visual publications in this direction and to participate in such activities.
- To create a library and archive for women and family studies.
- To cooperate with and participate in the work of all local, national and international institutions and organizations, including non-governmental organizations working directly or indirectly on women's issues.
- To provide counseling services in the field of women's issues.
- Organizing training meetings and preparing training materials.
- To ensure cooperation and communication between women's centers and organizations.
- To carry out other activities to be decided by the Board of Directors in the field of women and family studies.
Mission of the Center
The mission of the Center is to provide a gender equality perspective in Turkey and the world by conducting scientific applications and research in the field of women's and family issues at national and international level and by supporting such applications and research, together with the academic and social panels, seminars, conferences and similar meetings it organizes and the projects it develops, and to seek solutions and contribute to various problems of today from this perspective.
Vision of the Center
The vision of the Center is to increase sensitivity on women's and family issues by gaining a gender equality perspective and to live in a just world where no woman is oppressed in the social and political spheres, where women have equal rights and freedoms regardless of religion, language and race, and where they live in a world worthy of human dignity.
