Job Summary

The Training Officer will be responsible for performing administrative, support, and planning activities related to Building Markets’ training efforts in Turkey.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge or relevant professional experience relevant to budget administration and control, equipment, facilities, and inventory management, specialized recordkeeping and database management; information-gathering for projects and tasks.

  • Support the Training Manager in refining and enhancing existing training materials and content, including engaging with a digital tools provider to update content;
  • Collect feedback on training materials and iterate as required to increase user interaction;
  • Support communication efforts to engage a broader online audience for Building Markets’ services.
  • Support the development of complex administrative reports; reviewing department proposals and recommendations.
  • Work with the department to proactively address issues or concerns related to training quality;
  • Participate in meetings and follow up on action points as tasked by the Training Manager;
  • Assist training management and administrative activities;
  • Support monitoring of quantitative user engagement statistics with relevant staff and identify areas requiring further attention;
  • Gather feedback to understand obstacles to user experience and deepen user engagement;
  • Support facilitation and organization of training meetings, program functions, and special events, as appropriate;
  • In collaboration with the Training Manager and other members of the department, assist planning and organizing orientation and training activities, including scheduling training sessions, ensuring necessary training materials are available on time, helping prepare lesson plans, arrange meeting spaces;
  • Under guidance of the Training Manager, support the development of the training program.
  • Communicate with the Building Markets network as needed to explain deliver information related to training programs, events or future activities
  • Assist the Country Office with other related tasks as required.
  • Secretarial Degree / diploma or equivalent educational qualification in business administration.
  • Fluent in English and Turkish (spoken)
  • Demonstrated an understanding of basic training methods and delivery methods.
  • Experience coordinating with Syrian stakeholders in Turkey will be plus
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and task management skills
  • Experience working with small businesses in Turkey or in a similar context
  • Fluent in Arabic (written and spoken)
  • Ability to conduct quality assurance of training materials
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multi-tasking
     
  • Possible travel in-country
  • Salary commensurate with experience
