Prof. Dilek BATIBAY’s Reflections on Representing Maltepe University Conservatory at the Meeting Held in Warsaw within the Collaboration between TOVAK / International Chopin Academy and Maltepe University Conservatory, and on Observing the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition

Prof. Dilek Batıbay, faculty member of Maltepe University Conservatory, participated in the International Federation of Chopin Societies meeting held in Warsaw, Poland, between 15–18 October 2025, representing our institution within the framework of the collaboration between TOVAK / International Chopin Academy and Maltepe University Conservatory.

The Federation is a distinguished organization that brings together societies around the world devoted to Chopin’s art, music, and aesthetic philosophy. These international meetings aim to strengthen artistic collaborations among member countries, encourage the exchange of experiences in the field of music education, and preserve Chopin’s universal legacy.

“The events held during the International Federation of Chopin Societies meeting in Warsaw between 15–18 October 2025 provided an incredibly fruitful and inspiring experience, both academically and artistically. It was an honor for me to represent Maltepe University and our country during this important process.

At the same time, Warsaw was hosting another great event at the very heart of music — the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition. Despite the busy meeting schedule, I had the opportunity to follow the semi-final stage of the competition. Listening to seven finalist candidates, witnessing their technical mastery, emotional depth, and journeys into the spirit of Chopin’s music, was truly unforgettable.

Representing Maltepe University and our country within the Chopin Federation, and simultaneously having the chance to experience one of the world’s most prestigious piano competitions, I returned from Warsaw with enriching academic insights and strengthened cultural connections.”
