Message from the Director:
Prof. Çiğdem İYİCİL
Conservatory Director
Our conservatory, which began its educational journey in the 2018-2019 academic year with 1 department and 2 main art branches, has grown significantly over the past six years and now continues its activities with 2 departments and 5 main art branches. While establishing these branches, our goal has been to provide high-quality education alongside numerous masterclasses, Erasmus collaborations, and competitions to contribute to our students’ development at an international level.
To ensure both professional and artistic excellence in undergraduate education and to remain open to contemporary developments in the world of music, we have also established master's and proficiency in art programs in all main art branches of our music department. In its third year, our conservatory was accredited and accepted as an active member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen (AEC).
Our university’s exclusive campus concert halls have hosted various events, such as the 6th International Guitar Festival, the Turkish Composers Series, the 1st International Chopin Piano Competition (for Youth and Children) held in collaboration with the Chopin International Music Academy/TOVAK, the 2019 International SANAD Congress, and the 6th ICMAF International Bodrum Classical Music Academy and Festival, hosted at the Marma Hotel Bodrum.
Additionally, we see our part-time certificate program as a community service contributing significantly to music literacy. This program spans nine years, consisting of three-year periods, and offers education in all main art branches of our music department. Its structure also serves as preparatory training for undergraduate studies.
The 2024-2025 academic year has begun with great excitement, aiming to provide our students with even broader opportunities in light of all these activities.
We hope that this new period will bring success to our entire music community, especially our students and teachers.
