As part of İMEV's event program, public health services are carried out in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Maltepe University. Especially in areas with a high population of low-income citizens, İMEV organizes informative meetings on general health issues such as Maternal-Child Health, Family Planning, First Aid, Oral and Dental Health, and Balanced Nutrition to find solutions to these problems.
First Aid Training
In our country, many citizens lose their lives or become disabled due to home, work, traffic accidents, or natural disasters. In such cases, since there is not always a healthcare professional at the scene, the first aid interventions carried out by people affected by the incident or those present in the environment are extremely important. Generally, in our society, the terms "first aid" and "emergency aid" are often used interchangeably. However, while emergency aid refers to medical interventions performed by healthcare professionals with the necessary equipment, first aid involves interventions performed by trained individuals at the scene, using available materials, and without medication.
It is important to note that untrained individuals performing first aid could lead to harmful results. Therefore, it is essential that those who will administer first aid have received proper training, understand that their primary goal is not to harm individuals, and avoid making interventions that could pose a life-threatening risk. With this awareness, İMEV organizes first aid courses every year, training volunteer first-aiders.
