Throughout our history, the Istanbul Marmara Education Foundation (İMEV) continues the tradition of the rich foundation heritage, which has provided effective, efficient, and fruitful services in terms of societal solidarity and sharing. We carry on offering comprehensive services in various fields such as education, health, environment, culture, and art, upholding the foundation tradition.
The importance and necessity of philanthropy throughout human history and civilizations are clearly evident. From a religious perspective, it is obligatory for the wealthy to extend a helping hand to the poor. The saying "He who sleeps while his neighbor is hungry is not one of us" is very significant.
From both a societal and individual standpoint, knowing or learning how essential solidarity, assistance, tolerance, and mutual cooperation are for a happy, peaceful life, and for achieving peace is fundamental to human existence.
People, whether rich or poor, can only live together in the same society with mutual trust and peace through tolerance, sharing, and solidarity.
The values, unique qualities, and most importantly, the positive traditions and developments passed down from the past are what sustain nations.
Our goal is, first and foremost, to fulfill our duty to our homeland, the Republic, and, most importantly, humanity, in honor of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our freedom during the War of Independence, and to contribute to the enhancement of our nation's education and enlightenment levels, making the temporary permanent. We realized that this could only be achieved by establishing a foundation, with the awareness that serving humanity is the greatest form of worship. In 1996, we established the Istanbul Marmara Education Foundation. Our foundation will continue to serve actively in the fields of education and health as long as my family and I exist.”
