United Nations Certified Judicial Conduct and Ethics Course
United Nations Certified Judicial Conduct and Ethics Course
Summary
The United Nations (UN Office on Drugs and Crime) has developed Judicial Ethics Training materials in collaboration with experts from different legal traditions worldwide to facilitate the effective implementation of the Bangalore Principles of Judicial Conduct, unanimously adopted by all UN member states, and Article 11 of the UN Convention against Corruption (concerning the prevention of corruption in the judiciary).
The purpose of these training materials is to make them easily adaptable to different judicial systems and to provide lawyers (especially judges) with a deep understanding of the Bangalore Principles and related ethical standards applicable to both professional and private life.
The "UN Judicial Conduct and Ethics Self-Directed Certification Program" is scheduled to be delivered online by the UN in English (and the other 5 official UN languages). However, all training materials have been translated into Turkish, so the course will be conducted in Turkish.
Those who successfully complete the program will have the opportunity to take an online examination on the UN website at the end of the project (and if successful) receive their certificates. The exam questions will be in English, and translation assistance will be provided to students during the exam.
