Introduction
The Faculty of Fine Arts at Maltepe University began academic activities in the departments of cinema, acting, and plastic arts in 2004. A year later, the Faculty of Fine Arts included Cartoon and Animation, as well as Photography and Video, to its structure.
In the 2008-2009 academic year, the Basic Art Education and Visual Arts departments were also added to the Faculty of Fine Arts. As of today, the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Cartoon and Animation, Graphic Design, and Performing Arts Departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts continue to educate students.
The Faculty of Fine Arts aims to strengthen the interaction between departments by feeding on the unity between all art branches. Besides the workshops, obtaining information by meeting and talking in the city supports the educational understanding of the Faculty.
Considering the point the art has reached today, it is believed that the student should have knowledge in all other branches of art in order to prove her/his competence in a single field. For this purpose, the courses in our faculty are created within the framework of interdiscipliner logic. It is also aimed that an artist is fully equipped with side disciplines to support the production process.
