Graduation Projects
Graduation Project is an integral part of the education of students enrolled in programs at Maltepe University Faculty of Business and Management Sciences throughout their academic journey. Encouraging students to produce projects and academic texts is a common goal across all programs.
Within the scope of Graduation Project I and II courses, students are expected to write a project that reflects the knowledge and skills they have acquired over four years. Therefore, necessary care and effort are required at every stage, from generating ideas to presenting the work.
All graduation projects must adhere to academic ethical principles and rules. Activities such as scientific neglect, distortion, plagiarism, etc., which undermine the reliability of the work, should be avoided.
At the beginning of each semester, students select a project advisor with whom they wish to work. The project advisor, considering the students' class schedules, designates three hours per week for project consultation and announces these hours in the weekly class schedule. Students conduct their project work by meeting with their advisors during these designated hours each week, supplemented by additional meetings as needed.
Students who do not pass the Graduation Project I course cannot continue to Graduation Project II.
GRADUATION PROJECT I COURSE:
During the first seven weeks of the Graduation Project I course, the advisor provides students with information on scientific ethics, research methods and techniques, literature review, academic writing rules, stages of preparing a graduation project, preparing a research report, etc. Subsequently, students are required to research and identify the topic(s) they wish to work on, obtain approval from their advisor, conduct literature reviews, and prepare a graduation project proposal.
GRADUATION PROJECT II COURSE:
Based on the graduation project proposal prepared in Graduation Project I course, students write their graduation project in accordance with the academic writing rules specified in the Maltepe University Faculty of Business and Management Sciences Graduation Project Writing Guide and the Graduation Project Template. Students continue their graduation project work with the same advisor throughout the semester and submit their completed projects electronically and in printed form to their advisors at the end of the course.
