This website has been prepared to help you make plans for and implement a study abroad program as a MALTEPE student. MALTEPE is very enthusiastic about offering its students the opportunity to spend a semester or a year at a partner university abroad as an exchange student. For this purpose, MALTEPE has been actively participating in the Erasmus Program of the European Union since 2004. Maltepe has over 250 Erasmus exchange agreements with distinguished universities in Europe and is developing bilateral exchange agreements with universities elsewhere in the world. We are also very pleased to welcome Erasmus and other international exchange students at MALTEPE. International experiences such as participating in a study abroad program or making international friends at MALTEPE will expose you to new ideas, help you learn about different cultures and discover many common values across cultures, improve your communication and foreign language skills. All of these are valuable assets which will prepare you to be successful in a tightly interconnected world and global economy.
This website provides you with the information you need to select a university for your exchange. This may be a European university under the auspices of Erasmus, in which case you may be eligible for some financial support for your study abroad, or it may be a bilateral arrangement with a non-European university, in which case you will be responsible for your own travel and living expenses. The website provides you with the names of your coordinator, who can help you select a European university. It also contains information about the Erasmus Office which will provide you with advice about Erasmus and other exchanges and help facilitate your application and your study period. Maltepe University welcomes Erasmus students coming to study here for a semester or year. The International Office is responsible for the overall co-ordination and orientation of incoming students and assists with the various practical and personal matters which arise for any student settling into a new environment in an unfamiliar country.
To take part in the Erasmus programme at MU, you need first to contact the departmental Erasmus coordinator at your home institution to express your interest and arrange the appropriate programme for you which is adjusted to the partner institutions requirements. MU provides the intensive Turkish course to make you feel more secure at the beginning of your studying in Turkey.
