Success of Abdulhalim Erez, a graduate of Maltepe University Faculty of Communication

The Best Film award at the International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival Cinema Schools Student Film Competition went to Abdulhalim Erez, a 2024 graduate student of the Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. 

As our student's graduation project, Assist. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Elif Taşdemir Şanlı's short film ‘Sistem’, which was shot under the supervision of Lecturer Elif Taşdemir Şanlı, passed the preliminary jury evaluation and became one of the 12 finalist films selected for the competition. The film, which was screened at Antalya Atatürk Cultural Centre, was highly appreciated by the audience. On 12 October, Abdulhalim Erez, who competed on behalf of Maltepe University Faculty of Communication, received the Best Film award for his first short film. In its evaluation, the festival jury stated that Abdulhalim Erez's short film was deemed worthy of the Best Film award ‘because it harmoniously blends content and form while dealing with the subject it deals with and conveys it in an effective language’.
