The Turkish Republic of Maltepe University Search and Rescue Association (MUSAR), operating on a voluntary basis under the Istanbul Marmara Education Foundation (İMEV), the founding foundation of Maltepe University, has as its primary mission to respond to disasters and emergencies (including natural, human-made, and technological disasters such as missing persons, stranded individuals, fires, and traffic accidents) that may occur within or outside Turkey, primarily in the Marmara Education Village, which includes Maltepe University. Our association prioritises human life, rescuing all living beings from dangerous environments and reaching the disaster area as quickly as possible to provide effective search and rescue, nutrition, psychosocial and medical assistance with its trained and certified professional teams. In addition to these core activities, MUSAR's important tasks include organising awareness-raising events on disasters, providing relevant training and seminars on first aid, disaster knowledge and search and rescue, and preparing academic publications.
