 What is a cover letter?

Your resume expresses facts, but your cover letter should be more personal. This text will be the first step in introducing yourself to the person who may employ you, and therefore your goal is to make yourself as memorable as possible.

This means that you have to write a separate cover letter for each job you apply for, and there is no designated template for it. In addition, the format of your cover letter should be appropriate for the institution and sector you are applying for. It should be visually correct and be able to convey the information you want to transfer in the proper order.

How to write a cover letter?

The purpose of your cover letter is to introduce yourself during the job interview in a memorable and personal way.

A well-prepared cover letter allows you to convey the information in your resume in more detail to the reader. In the meantime, you may also have the chance to talk about success in your career or life.

Before you start writing your cover letter, you need to plan the content in advance in accordance with the job you are applying for.

This guide will explain the highlights of a correctly written cover letter, what should and should not be in your cover letter.

An action-oriented, concise yet complete…

The successful cover letter includes the following features:

  • A memorable introduction
  • Original and organized examples to introduce yourself
  • An action-oriented, concise yet complete

A successful cover letter gives you the chance to convey your personal skills that prove you are the right person for the job you applied.

What should your cover letter include?

Of course, it is not possible to fit your entire life and career in a cover letter.

You must give a clear idea of yourself. You should also explain how you can add value to the organization.

  • Suitability of the candidate's work experience with the requirements of the job.

The three most important issues to be included in the cover letter are:

  • Suitability of the candidate's work experience for the requirements of the job
  • Suitability of the candidate's abilities for the requirements of the job
  • The reason the candidate wants to work in the institution he/she applied for

Your cover letter should contain the above information and be able to convince the reader that you are the right person for the job you are applying for.

Therefore, the requirements of the job should determine the content of your cover letter.

At this point, you can apply the following headings:

  • Show how you solve the problems

However, it will not be helpful to describe yourself as a mere problem solver. You should be clearer. Describe in detail how you solved a specific problem before and how you used your skills in solving that problem.

  • Use appropriate language

Express yourself as you are, but you should also use language appropriate for the institution you are applying for.

Researching the institution in question and using appropriate language, which may differ greatly, is a point to consider.

  • Tell your own story

Talking about your own life and career stories will be important in terms of showing your skills and giving information about your personality and business style.

When telling the right stories, always consider conditions that match the job description you are applying for.

Besides that, it will be very useful to learn about the corporate and corporate culture on the internet.

  • Honesty should be your only course of action

Not being honest in your cover letter will not be in your best interest. Saying or implying that you have a talent you do not have can cause problems later during the interview or job.

  • Be different from everyone else

Human Resources employees often read similar cover letters over and over again. A slightly different word selection will make you stand out from the other candidates. Unlike others, this selection will show that you at least think more than the average candidate could do.

  • Finish it with a call to action

Finish the letter with a reason to get them to contact you. At this point, however, make a polite and open-ended call to action without exceeding the boundaries of courtesy. For example, indicate that you can share more information and would be happy to talk to them. State why you want to work in their institutions by mentioning your clear, concrete contributions.

  • Don't make spelling errors

Read your cover letter to avoid spelling error sand have your friends and family read it.

Apart from these, your cover letter should be special for you and reflects you. It should be able to describe you as an individual. It should include your experience and skills directly related to the job posting in question. These statements may seem opposite to each other, but they are equally important for a successful cover letter.

What Not to Include in Your Cover Letter?

Human Resources employees read thousands of cover letters and resumes, so be careful not to make the following mistakes:

  • Avoid clichés; Be careful not to use expressions that are used all the time and repetitive. This will neither reduce your chances of getting the job, nor it will enable you to get the job. For example, do not state that you are an ideal employee, because everybody says this anyway Of course, everyone thinks they are the ideal employee because they want the job, but don't put it into these words.
  • Never provide unrelated information; Information like this can be confusing and boring. That may cause missing out the important points.
