The Human Rights Department of the Institute of Social Sciences of Maltepe University was established in the year 2008 and started conducting an M.A. program with thesis and another one without thesis, in the academic year 2008-2009.

The objectives of the human rights program with a thesis are a) to prepare the ground for conceptual research related to human rights, necessary for becoming able to conduct applied research and b) to train people on this theoretical basis.

The program gave its first graduates in the year 2010. Until now 38 students graduated from this program.
 

MISSION

The mission of the program is to contribute to the increase of the number of people who look at what is going on from human rights perspective, to the spread of this perspective, as well as to pave the way to the use of clearly conceived human rights as starting points in legislation and in the application of Law.
 

VISION

A Turkey in which all kinds of human rights are protected for everyone.
